Federal Lawsuit to be filed against Children & Youth 5.0000/ 5 rating WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY - More than 70 parents claim that Luzerne County Children and Youth Services has violated their civil rights and the rights of their kids. An attorney plans to file a federal lawsuit on their behalf.

"There's been an ongoing systematic process of government - local government - taking kids from their families with no due process; decieving them, cooercing them outright, threatening them, to keep their kids in system keeping them longer than they should," says Attorney James Hayward.

A represenative for the County Human Services Department says he plans to look into the claims. The lawsuit could be filed in the coming days, and as early asThursday.
