Fell Charter School Hosts Open House

Fell Charter School Hosts Open House - Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 6:11PM EST

SIMPSON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY-The Fell Charter School in Lackawanna County held an Open House Tuesday night. It's an effort to enroll more students.

Just last week the school decided it would no longer have grades nine through 11.

The school will continue to have kindergarten through 8th.

The reason? School officials say low enrollment and rising expenses.

Mary Jo Walsh, the Principal of Fell Charter School told us "However I do feel that because the elementary is growing in size and we do have a waiting list that in the next two years we will have a foundational group of students to move into a high school.”

Fell charter also has a committee looking into the possibility of a high school that would be ready to accept students in two years.
