SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- News crews and stage hands spent the better part of Monday morning preparing for the visit of Senator Hillary Clinton to Scranton.
A stage was set up in the gymnasium of Scranton High School while news agencies ran cables into the facility and set up lights. It marks the Senator's first primary campaign trip to Pennsylvania in advance of the April 22nd Primary Election.
Signs were set up around the gym welcoming Mrs Clinton. One used the phrase 'Welcome Home', a reference to her frequent visits to Scranton as a child. Mrs. Clinton's father grew up in Scranton and is buried there.
A high school student from Gouldsboro arrived at the gymnasium at 9:00 A.M. Stephney Pisko said she didn't mind the 9 hour wait to hear Senator Clinton speak. Miss Pisko said "I didn't mind waiting. I wanted to be first in line. I'm just so excited to see her."
