DELAWARE WATER GAP, MONROE COUNTY - Bright oranges and reds spot the green mountainside of the Delaware Water Gap.
Claudia Garon of New Jersey said, "Oh they're spectacular - they're lovely." Dick Mccauley of New York added, "I think it's spectacular. It's really wonderful here."
Their group booked a trolley ride to take in the colors. Dick said, "We're a little early I think for the biggest part of the show."
The leaves in Monroe County aren't at their peak just yet but there is a way for you to find out when they will be and where you can find bright colors right now. You can call a special hotline.
The Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau Fall Foliage Hotline explains the Pocono region's three different color zones. It tells you which regions have the most color and when they will be their brightest.
This week Wayne County and parts of Pike County will have the best show.
If you use the hotline you could plan to see the best of nature in a different part of the region every week this month.
The phone number is 570-421-5565. | |
