WILKES-BARRE -- NEPA's adjusted unemployment rate went to 8 percent in January and is expected to rise even higher when the new numbers are released later this March. The current national unemployment rate for February is 8.1 percent.
With lay-offs and job-loss across the region, how can people get back on their feet and find work? What assistance is available to them? Is a turnaround in the area's economy expected anytime soon?
