Williamsport, Lycoming County-

A bar in Williamsport’s Newberry section has been shut down due to a code violation.

Code enforcers say there are structural issues with the roof at the Finish Line Café on West Fourth Street.

The owners were issued a warning in August to have the roof fixed by the end of November. And to date, we're told nothing has been done.

The building was posted as being unsafe Wednesday morning, essentially shutting it down to the public.

Code Administrator Joseph Gerardi said, “What we’re trying to do is we’re trying to make these businesses and places safe. If you own a property you need to take care of it because it’s not only for yourself, but anybody who’s visiting your establishment.”

Gerardi says no one will be permitted into the Finish Line Café until the roof is either repaired or replaced.
