WHITE'S CROSSING, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- A fire chief and his wife, the department's treasurer, were arrested Tuesday following a several-months' investigation into finances at the White's Crossing Company. Chief Timothy MacDonald and Treasurer Beverly MacDonald were charged with theft and forgery in relation to an investigation of missing funds. It's alleged the couple skimmed thousands of dollars from boot drops and other fundraising activities. Eyewitness News stopped by the MacDonald's Reservoir Street home. Nobody answered the door. Their bail was each set at $5,000 unsecured. The couple is set to return to court July 21. | |
