Crews arrived Wednesday morning shortly after 1 o'clock to find flames shooting through the roof of the building that houses both the Community Bake Shop And Cafe as well as The Wedding Center.

Firefighters determined they couldn't save the building and feared it could collapse.

They fought to contain the fire and prevent if from spreading.

The building is destroyed and we know one other business, marquee cinema, sustained smoke and water damage.

The Pollock family owns Community Bake Shop.

They say they'll work with other bakeries and businesses to fill any orders.

Any concerned customers can call the Pollock family at 677-4620.

Lackawanna Avenue between Penn and North Washington Avenues is shut down as well as Wyoming and Penn Avenues between Lackawanna and Spruce street.

Also, the Mall At Steamtown planned to open at noon, however mall workers and staff were scheduled to report at their normal start time.
