BLOOMSBURG, COLUMBIA COUNTY - A judge, Wednesday, sentenced a fire fighter from Columbia County for stealing from volunteer fire companies.

19 year-old Colton Barrett of Orangeville will spend 8-months to 3-years in prison.

Barrett and another man admitted stealing $65,000 in equipment from several volunteer fire companies in Luzerne and Columbia Counties.

Co-defendant Matthew Cleaver of Bloomsburg will be sentenced next month.

Barrett is also accused of setting several fires, including one that critically injured a Fishing Creek Township couple.

He's awaiting further court action on attempted murder, arson and burglary charges.
