WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY- Members of the Wilkes-Barre Fire department are heated up over budget cuts.

Tonight, they held an informational picket tonight outside a fire house.
They want to get the word out that the city has cut staffing levels for fire fighters from 14 to 12 per shift.
The cuts also mean one engine will be out of service.
Mayor Tom Lehighton told eyewitness news over the weekend-- if staffing levels weren't lowered- the city would have faced tough financial decisions later this year. He insists the cuts will not jeopardize public safety.
