SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY -- Six people, including four kids, are forced from their home after a fire in Scranton.
Flames broke out at 818 Smith Street in the city's west side just after noon. Two people, including a 2-year-old boy, were inside at the time. They got out safely.
Fire investigators think the fire began in a second floor bedroom. Scranton Assistant Fire Chief J. W. Davis said, ÒThe fire was confined to a second floor bedroom, a lot of fire damage and smoke in that room. ThereÕs a lot of water damage in the building.Ó
Neighbors say the house that burned used to be a group home. The Scranton fire victims are now being helped out by the Red Cross.
ThereÕs no word on what caused the fire. | |
