SCHUYLKILL HAVEN- Firefighters battled a blaze that threatened a nursing home Saturday. The flames broke out at the 1912 building in Schuylkill Haven at about noon.

The Rest Haven Nursing Home is in that building. So county officials were prepared to evacuate, but they didn't have to.

The fire burned only one side of the building, so the nursing home was spared. At least four fire companies helped put out the flames.

Investigators are trying to figure out how the fire started.
