THROOP, LACKAWANNA COUNTY -- A fire that caused major damage to a home in Lackawanna County is now a case of arson.

State police say the blaze broke out right around midnight at 606 Cypress Street in Throop. A police officer discovered the flames on the back porch of the home but they quickly spread.

No one was home at the time of the fire and no one was hurt.

A neighboring apartment also sustained smoke and water damage in Lackawanna County.
