Several people are homeless.. And one person is injured.

A fire broke out in a 3 floor apartment on 35 North Welles Street in Wilkes-Barre just before 3:30pm.

Fire crews say the fire started in the living room in the second floor apartment.

No cause is known at this time.

One man living there was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

6 people live on the 3rd floor.

They had to evacuate, and were not injured.

Neighbors say they are staying with family.

The Red Cross is assisting.
