BENTON TWP., COLUMBIA COUNTY -- Firefighters saved a house in Columbia County Wednesday morning.

Alert neighbors noticed smoke coming from the home along Shannon Hill Road in Benton Township around 10:00 A. M.

Four fire departments were called to assist due to the lack of water. Flames broke out on the second floor of the home and spread to the attic.

No one was home when the fire started. The Red Cross is helping the couple who lives there.
