JERMYN, LACKAWANNA COUNTY Ð There was a fire scare Monday for high school students in Lackawanna County. Firefighters were called to the Lakeland High School around 12:30 Monday afternoon.

They found smoke coming from a microwave oven in the teachers lounge. The appliance had apparently shorted out.

Students were allowed back into the school after the smoke was cleared out.
