SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY

Dozens of Scranton firemen are donating their time and labor to complete home renovations started by one of their fellow firemen who died in the line of duty.

Captain James Robeson was electrocuted while fighting a fire in the city in January. He had begun renovations on his home shortly before his death.

An email calling for volunteers brought dozens of firemen to the Robeson family home Wednesday morning where they started to repair the roof prior to working on new siding and interior repairs.

Robeson's widow Linda said she was both touched and thrilled by the firemen's efforts. She said the firefighters have been helping the family in many ways since her husban's death.
