FOREST CITY, SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY
There's a big election campaign going on in the Susquehanna County community of Forest City. And its got nothing to do with the race for the White House!
Forest City is one of five communities in the running for the title of "Pierogy Pocket Capital of the World!" Its a contest conducted annually by Mrs T's Pierogy Company."
The idea to enter came from a group of former Forest City High School students who heard about the contest and produced their own promotional video to get votes for the community. It featues a character called "Pierogy Man."
This is the third year the contest has been held. Last year the honors went to Binghampton, New York which cam up with an estimated 60,000 votes!
