SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY

Former attorney David Gnall has been sentenced to one year and one day in Federal Prison for his roll in a scheme that bilked former clients out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

U. S. Prosecutors said that Gnall, from Moosic, referred clients to an Old Forge Mn. James Peperno, to make investments. Peperno was not a registered investment adviser. Agents say he paid Gnall $20,000 for the referrals. Prosecutors say the clients were bilked out of some $295,000.

Peperno pleaded guilty to mail fraud for his roll in the scheme.

Gnall will begin serving his sentence on March 24th. He has also been ordered to make restitution to the victims of the scheme.
