A former part-time police officer is on the other side of the law, facing a number of charges.

Police say William Longworth of Coaldale allegedly sent threatening messages to his former girlfriend. Police say he also threatened her new boyfriend, who is a Luzerne County Assistant District Attorney.

According to published reports Longworth used a police website to find out information. Because an Assistant D. A. is involved the case may be sent to the Attorney General's office.

Longworth will have a hearing later this month.
