SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY -- A former Luzerne County official admits he took a bribe from a developer.
Russell Arnone, a long-time Jenkins Township Supervisor, pleaded guilty Monday to taking $5,000 in cash from a developer. He said he did it as a reward for his help in pushing a construction project forward.
Federal prosecutors say Arnone denied taking the bribe and then later said he took the money as a campaign contribution.
Arnone is one of 30 people nabbed in the ongoing corruption probe in Northeastern Pennsylvania. | |
