49 year old Bobby Komrowski of Foster Township will stand trial for allegedly murdering 31 year old Amy Comly.

State police played an alleged taped confession from Komrowski at today's preliminary hearing.

For the first time we heard why Amy Comly may have shown up at his house unannounced.

Bobby Komrowski will stand trial for allegedly murdering his ex-girlfriend.

His preliminary hearing was held at central court in Wilkes-Barre.

Komrowski allegedly stabbed Amy Comly to death at his foster township home on October 10th.

He says it was in self defense.

Prosecutors disagree.

Luzerne County Assistant District Attorney William Finnegan says, "he is a black belt, he is more than qualified to defend himself. He indicated on the tape that he was not in fear for his safety. I don't think, in the end, that's going to have any impact on what's going to happen."

Comly had an order of protection against Komrowski, but came to his house the day of the murder anyway.

That was all explained in Komrowski's alleged taped confession.

State police say they taped the confession the day of the murder.

That tape was played inside central court.

In his own words, Bobby Komrowski allegedly describes how he killed Amy Comly."

He says he and Comly had sex, then he told her to leave.

Komrowski says she lunged at him with a knife instead.

According to police, that's when he stabbed her 6 times.

In the alleged taped confession, Komrowski says he and Comly argued about their 3 year old child, and horses they own.

He says he doesn't know if that's why she showed up the day of the murder.

Neither do prosecutors.

Finnegan says, “there are some different accounts of what the reason might be but from our standpoint, it doesn't matter. He shouldn't have had contact with her at all."

Komrowski remains in the Luzerne County jail without bail until his trial starts

Komrowski's trial is set for January 25th at the Luzerne County courthouse.

He's been in jail, without bail since the day of the murder.
