TUNKHANNOCK TWP., MONROE COUNTY- Eyewitness News arrived on the scene and found charred wreckage and crumpled cars just after 9:00 P. M. The crash happened along Route 115 at the intersection with Route 903 near Long Pond.

The cars collided head-on and burst into flames. 30-year-old Brooke Coronato of Scranton was pronounced dead at the scene and 37-year-old Nicholis Stamus of Easton was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital where he later died.

Police are reconstructing the accident to find out exactly what happened.

DORRANCE TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY- Around the same time in Luzerne County, a 2-vehicle crash killed a woman and man.

It happened in Dorrance Township not far from the I-81 junction along Blue Ridge Trail.

State Police say 57-year-old Rodney Deets of Wapwallopen crossed the double yellow line. His car slammed into a station wagon driven by 49-year-old Patricia Custer of Mountain Top. Both drivers died at the scene.

The road was closed for nearly 4-hours after this Luzerne County double fatal wreck.
