A bizarre chain of events leads to four Scranton drug arrests.
A woman, claiming she was held hostage, jumped from a house.
When police got to the scene, they rushed the woman to the hospital.
Then they took a closer look at the house she jumped from.
Four people were arrested at 716 Birch Street home in Scranton .
It happened a few hours after a woman was rushed to the hospital.
Neighbors say she jumped from the house, claiming she was being held hostage.
Renee Morenelli lives at 716 Birch Street , and can't make sense of what happened.
Morinelli says, "I had no idea that there was anybody on the ground in the back. I mean, why jump out of a window or the porch when you can come out the front door. There's always a key it."
Cindy Hoyer stayed the night at this house, and says it was the first time she'd seen the woman.
"They were drinking and stuff and i don't know. I went to bed. I woke up to make waffles and you know, seen police cars," says Hoyer.
Police can only say a party was held here, and a woman was injured.
No kidnapping charges will be filed.
The only charges came down after police and this k-9 dog searched the house.
Police say drug paraphernalia was found, leading to the arrests.
That makes some neighbors pretty upset.
Harvey Hallett says, "What are my thoughts? I think we need more police patrol over here."
The injured woman’s name or condition hasn't been released.
Police say the injured woman could also face drug charges when she's released from the hospital. | |
