FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, CARBON COUNTY --A driver is severely injured after a rock smashes through the windshield of a car traveling on the Pennsylvania Turnpike Northeast Extension. It happened after 9 Friday morning, just north of the Mahoning Valley interchange.
Rescue crews tell Eyewitness News a rock likely flew off a truck and crashed through the windshield of a car driving northbound.
A helicopter landed next to the highway to fly the driver to the hospital. We do not know the extent of the driver's injuries. | |
