Muncy Township, Lycoming County-
With summer fun on the minds of local kids, summer safety is on the minds of local parents.
We found plenty of children checking out a free kids’ bike safety program at the LifeCenter at the Lycoming Mall.
Kids from ages 6-11 learned about appropriate clothing for bike riding, rules of the road, and the importance of wearing a properly-fitted helmet.
Injury prevention consultant Sandy Nolan explained, “A bicycle helmet is not an accessory, it’s a necessity. And we need to stress that to all our families and our children.”
Officials note that helmets should also be worn by kids on scooters, skateboards, and Rollerblades. | | |
