FREELAND, LUZERNE COUNTY- Late Friday the landlord of the Freeland Village Apartments paid part of an overdue water bill. The water company said the landlord, who is from New York, owes nearly $36,000. Friday they said he paid $15,500 on the bill.

The non-payment forced Freeland Municipal Authority to hang warnings on the apartments of 150 people who live in the complex telling them their water will soon be shut off. If the landlord misses a payment, the water will be shut off. He did not return calls made by Eyewitness News.
