Friends Looking for Answers in Case of Missing Plymouth Man

Friends Looking for Answers in Case of Missing Plymouth Man - Sunday, May 3, 2009 at 7:18PM EST

PLYMOUTH, LUZERNE COUNTY- A Luzerne County man is missing despite a nearly week-long search. 34-year-old Donnie Skiff of Plymouth was last seen a week ago. Some friends say he went fishing with them after work, and haven't seen him since. Eyewitness News talked with Skiff's girlfriend and tagged along with friends during their search efforts.
Jenn Aston has dated Donnie Skiff for more than five years. "He loves my kids, he enjoys spending time with my kids, he's more like their dad," she said.

She was told Skiff went fishing -- before he went missing -- last Monday. Dyer Knight, a fellow member of the rock band "Wicked Sins" and their producer, Rob Benci -- went looking for Skiff immediately.

They initially thought skiff might have wrecked his truck. "I walked along the highway and looked over the embankments and that," said Knight.

Donnie Skiff's friends tell Eyewitness News things changed when Skiff's pick-up truck was found torched here about 1/4 mile off Route 11 in Plymouth. It was found Wednesday, two days after Skiff was last seen.

"That definitely confirmed the thought for me that something happened to Donnie and it wasn't of his own choosing," added Knight.

State police and the Luzerne County District Attorney's office took over the investigation. "Even if you just please anonymously let the authorities know and give us some point where we can begin to search," said Benci.

"Realistically at this point in time, it is possible something bad did happen to Donnie but I still need to keep my hopes that we're going to find him safe and alive," said Aston.

As does skiff's friend of more than 20 years. "I would give up every ounce of music I've written just for him, because I love him that much, and I want him back,” said Knight.

Anyone with information on the disappearance of Donnie Skiff should call State Police at Wyoming at 697-2000.
