var images = new Array(); Some 200 thousand Frigidaire and Kenmore stoves are being recalled due to a fire hazard.

The recall involves Frigidaire, Frigidaire Gallery, Frigidaire Professional and Kenmore Elite smoothtop electric ranges with rotary knobs and digital displays. The surface heating elements turn on spontaneously and fail to turn off. Some heat to different temperatures than selected. Frigidaire has received 126 reports of such incidents.

Consumers should stop using the ranges immediately and schedule a free repair. The recalled stoves were sold at Sears and other national chain and independent retailers nationwide from June 2001 through August 2009. 1-800-449-9812
