MOOSIC, LACKAWANNA COUNTY - PNC Field was virtually empty Thursday night. The drainage dilemma has forced the Yankees to go on the road for their next four games.

Thursday and Friday's games have been moved to Allentown. Games scheduled for Saturday and Sunday have been moved to Syracuse, New York.

Many fans aren't happy about the decision.

"I'm frustrated. I'm in disbelief. Frustrated over the whole thing. I hope they resolve it," Michael Iacavazzi of Old Forge said as he came to exchange his tickets.

Grounds crews were back in the outfield again Thursday afternoon. They replaced another 14,000 square feet of wet, soggy sod. On Wednesday, part of the warning track was dug up and new drain tiles were put in.

"That's kinda the last piece of it as far as what we feel we can do and then we'll evaluate it," Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees President Kristen Rose said.

Season ticket holders hope the short-term solution works.

"It's very frustrating. All these beautiful days and you can't go to the ball game," Pat Kulick of Peckville said.

"Nobody is more disappointed and more frustrated than we are. We're doing absolutely everything that we can," Rose said.

One question that we don't have the answer too... is what the four game relocation will have in the long term. Will fans stay away?

"With such a nice field, you would never think this would happen," Kulick said.

"I see the work out here now and I think they'll come up with a solution and correct it as soon as possible," Iacavazzi said.

At the end of the season, officials say they plan to address the drainage dilemma by tearing up the current field.
