Montoursville, Lycoming County-

Traffic was backed up for miles after a fuel spill in Lycoming County late Monday morning. It happened just west of the Loyalsock Avenue exit of Interstate 180 near Montoursville.

PennDOT officials say a tractor trailer’s drive shaft broke and knocked the fuel lines off the truck.

Interstate 180’s westbound lanes were coated with diesel fuel. Traffic was backed up for miles into Montoursville as crews worked to clean up the mess.

The road was re-opened about 2:30 Monday afternoon. Traffic is now back to normal.
