SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY - A fund has been set-up to help the family of a 5-year-old rape victim in Lackawanna County.

Prosecutors say the girl was brutally raped and nearly murdered in her own bedroom after a Fourth of July celebration in Taylor. The suspect was quickly taken into custody and remains behind bars.

Since news of the arrest, people from all over northeastern Pennsylvania and the country have called the DA's office to ask how they can help. People have already dropped off clothing, teddy bears and other items.

Due to the need for privacy, the "Marley Fund" is named after the victim's pet guinea pig.
