KINGSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY -- A Luzerne County businessman is coming to the aid of a young woman coping with cancer.
20-year-old Mallary McClintock of Kingston is a Luzerne County Community College student. She was diagnosed last month with Stage 3 ovarian cancer. She began aggressive chemotherapy treatment Friday.
Her mother works at The Pizza Mill in Kingston and had to take a leave of absence to take care of Mallary. Now restaurant owner Robert Cardone is holding a dine-in and take-out spaghetti dinner fundraiser Sunday.
"It's good for us to help her because they have a huge amount of expenses right now. And also to make other people aware of her ovarian cancer that is known as a silent killer," he said.
The spaghetti dinners costs $8. The fundraiser is Sunday from 2:00 – 8:00 P. M. at The Pizza Mill on Schuyler Avenue in Kingston. | |
