Loyalsock Township, Lycoming County-

A heartwarming fundraiser is being held for a precious little girl named Lillian Gallagher in Lycoming County this week. Lillian’s grandmother, Nancy, works at a nursing care center near Williamsport. Staff and residents there are doing everything they can to help.

"She's a beautiful child, she's a true child of God, and we just love her," HCR ManorCare resident Nancy Lose said.
There may be no better words to describe three-and-a-half-year-old Lillian Gallagher, the little girl with the shining eyes and infectious smile that has touched so many hearts.

HCR ManorCare employee Cindy Feliz said, "She's loving, she's fun, she's energetic. She loves watching tv, she likes to play."

Residents and staff members have come to know and love the little girl they simply call Lilly, who visits the nursing care facility often with her grandmother, Nancy Leitch, a ManorCare employee.

Lillian suffers from Microcepalus, which results in an abnormally small head, and Schizencephally, a malformation of the brain. She also takes seizure medication and uses a feeding tube.

Feliz explained, "She's disabled and she doesn't have the abilities that other children do, but she goes to school three times a week, and she's just very loving once you meet her."

With medical bills constantly mounting, staff and residents at ManorCare decided to help out by holding several fundraisers, including this basket raffle which lasts the rest of the week. All are encouraged to stop by and purchase tickets for the raffle. The money raised here at ManorCare will go toward various items to help with Lillian's care, including a seizure detection dog and a wheelchair lift for the family van.

Little Lillian would have attended fundraiser, but she was hospitalized on Monday and scheduled for surgery. Fortunately, we're told that surgery went well, and Lillian is recovering at Geisinger in Danville.

Ms. Feliz said, "Unfortunately, she can't be here, or her family, but she's definitely in our thoughts and in our prayers."

ManorCare Resident Nancy Lose added, "We just want her to get well. She needs all our help. So please everyone just come out and support her."

If you would like to help, stop by HCR ManorCare in Loyalsock Township to purchase raffle tickets, or you can donate to Lillian’s family through the Alika Foundation by calling 570-321-8790.
