PLAINS TOWNSHIP , LUZERNE COUNTY- A childhood friend is hosting an event to raise money for the family of fallen Trooper, Joshua Miller. 12 bands performed at Leggio's restaurant in Plains Township Monday night. The benefit's also features auctions and a karaoke contest. Trooper Miller died in the line of duty earlier this month. Everyone involved in the benefit says it's the community's duty to give back.

Two other benefits were also held for trooper Miller's family Monday. Five Guys burgers and fries on Route 611 in Stroud Township donated all of today's sales to the miller family. And Supercuts Salon, next door, donated a portion of its profits to miller's wife and three children. Both businesses say the fundraisers were a success.
