Funeral Arrangements Set for Former Allentown Bishop - Sunday, February 22, 2009 at 6:48PM EST

ALLENTOWN, LEHIGH COUNTY- Funeral services have been set for the former bishop of the Allentown Diocese. Bishop Thomas Welsh died Thursday at the age of 87.
He was born in Carbon County and served from 1983 to 1998. Three days of visitation are planned Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena in Allentown. Burial will also be Saturday.

The Allentown Diocese serves Carbon, Schuylkill, Berks, Lehigh and Northampton counties.
