SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY- A steady stream of mourners filled St. Ann's Basicila Monday morning. Family and friends all gathered to remember 20-year-old Justin Berrios, who's life was tragically cut short in a triple murder last week.
Friends like April Evans went to Scranton High School with Berrios. “I've known Justin since freshman year, so that would be '02. We used to go to the lanes a lot," she said.
Friends say Berrios loved the movies and loved music. They say he always wore a smile. “We went to the carnival one time. He helped me try to win a fish. We had a song together. It was good. I miss him. I'm gonna miss him. He was a good kid," added Evans.
Our cameras were there Thursday morning when Justin's father Jose learned of his son's death. Jose Berrios has 24 kids. Justin was his youngest. “My son was a nice guy. No trouble maker or nothing," said Jose.
Even though it’s been four days since the triple murder, Scranton police were still guarding the scene Monday. Investigators are still sorting through forensic evidence.
As for the other two murder victims, brothers Dustin Hintz and Leslie Collier, their viewings and funerals will be held Tuesday night.
The family needs help to pay funeral expenses. You can send donations to:
