DUPONT, LUZERNE COUNTY- Plans are in the works to honor a fallen Pennsylvania Patriot with ties to Luzerne County.
52-year-old Lieutenant Colonel Richard Berrettini died Friday in Texas, nine days after his humvee was attacked in Afghanistan.
Berretini lived in McKean County but grew up in Dupont and still has family here. He served in the National Guard for more than 20 years.
The viewing for Lieutenant Colonel Berrettini is Wednesday from 7-9PM and Thursday from 1-5PM and 7-9PM at the Adonizio Funeral Home in Pittston. Burial is Friday at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wyoming.
