Garage Brewery Becomes Breaker Brewing Co. - Monday, April 6, 2009 at 4:54PM EST

PLAINS TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY- Chris Miller and Mark Lehman are brewing it big out of their little garage. They’ve created the Breaker Brewing company in Plains Township.
"We're going to do it this small and just get bigger. I mean, that's the plan, that's our intentions," say Lehman.

Lehman says this brewery has beers ready to be put on tap. They're making them by putting in long weekend hours. "Our wives are like, you guys just aren't goofing around any more, you guys are the real deal. So it's worked out pretty good. It's exciting to get to where we're at," says Miller.

Where Miller and Lehman are at came from an idea over a cold one. "One day we said, we can make beer and we can probably make it better than some of these beers we're drinking so let's try it," says Miller.

Miller says he had to ask his neighbors permission to start his brewery, but he says convincing wasn't hard. Miller says he told his neighbors, "Hey do you mind if we started our own brewery. They said, well yeah as long as you give us free beer we don't care."

Now four beers: Anthracite Ale, Goldies, Malty McGuire and Old King Cole Stout are ready for drinking. The sales pitch is as simple as the brewery. Lehman says drink it because, "Because it tastes good. I mean it's really, really a good product and every body that we have that's tried our beer loves it so give it a shot."
