Gay Porn Murder Trial Underway
Gay Porn Murder Trial Underway - Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at 10:55AM EST
WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY- Opening statements were given this morning in the high-profile murder trial of Harlow Cuadra.
Cuadra is charged with first degree murder. 12 jurors and 4 alternates were picked after a full week of jury selection. Cuadra is accused of stabbing and killing Bryan Kocis of Dallas Township.
Police say Cuadra burned down Kocis's house to cover up the crime. This all happened at Kocis's Dallas Township home in January 2007.
Prosecutors say the two men were rivals in the gay porn industry. Another man, Joseph Kerekes, pled guilty to playing a part in Kocis's death. He's serving a life sentence. As part of a plea agreement, Kerekes won't testify in Cuadra's trial.
If found guilty, Cuadra will either face life in prison or the death penalty. | |
