Geisinger South W-B to Close ER, Cut Jobs - Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 6:00PM EST

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY- Some big cuts are coming to Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre. Hospital officials announced 179 jobs will be lost.
The changes also mean Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre will become a so-called same day campus. All inpatient services as well as the hospital emergency room will close Friday, July 10.

Those services will be transferred to Geisinger Wyoming Valley in Plains Township.
