Bloomsburg, Columbia County-

The 154th annual Bloomsburg Fair is less than a week away. And fair officials are setting the stage to make this one of their best years ever.

Fair President Todd Lehman said, "I think it's the family tradition and family atmosphere that we have at the fair. Once it gets in your blood, people come when they're young, they just want to keep coming back."

Loyal fair goers may think they've seen it all. But there's plenty of new stuff to check out at this year's Bloomsburg Fair.

For instance, Millenium Hall is gone. In its place is this log cabin, which will be given away next Saturday.

Lehman said, "It's a free drawing. Anybody can put their name in the hat and the last night of the fair we're going to draw to give the log cabin away."

A new stage is also being added here. There will be free entertainment all week long.

And how about the temporary new main stage? It will feature massive video screens and speakers suspended high in the air.

Lehman explained, "It'll be here for three years while we work on design and building of the new stage."

The previous stage was more than 40 years old and damaged by flooding. The new one will be much larger.

Joseph Minier, of Unityville, recalled, "From what I've heard over the years, some of the acts that could've been here, the stage wasn't big enough to accommodate all their equipment and that's the reason they couldn't come. So hopefully this will change that."

And don't forget to stop by the veteran's memorial. The big tank is still here, but new this time around are stone blocks featuring the names of area veterans.

Minier noted, "It's a good way to keep our veterans remembered, the ones that have died for our country. Lets people know who these people were and they won't be forgotten."

Lehman added, "We think it's a good thing because the fair believes in supporting our veterans for all they do for the country."

Admission to the fair is $4 for adults. Kids under 12 get in free.

The fair runs September 20th through the 27th.
