MONTROSE, SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY- The New York's Giants' Super Bowl win is big news in the 'Big Apple' and just as big in the Susquehanna County Borough of Montrose.

The excitement in Montrose stems from the fact that one of the Giants offensive linemen is Chris Snee, who went to Montrose High School in the late 1990's. Snee was Captain of the Montrose Meteors team in 1999. He went on to Boston College and made his NFL debut in September of 2004.

Former High School coach Tom Lucenti said that Chris had great size and speed which attracted the attention of a lot of college coaches. Lucenti said Chris knew all the factors of the game and was also in the top 20 of his class academically.

Tyler Kernan is a Senior at Montrose High School and a member of the football team. He said Snee's success "proves that no matter where you come from, you can still make big things, no matter what you do."

Chris Snee no longer makes his home in Susquehanna County, but educators say he comes back to the area and to the school occasionally. A trophy case in the school is filled with photos and items related to Snee's career in football.
