Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County -
He visited Career Link in Luzerne County where he explained how the federal stimulus money Pennsylvania receives will be spent. He says jobs for weatherizing homes will be created immediately.
Governor Ed Rendell says, "For the next 12-18 months, these are good jobs with benefits, etc and that’s why this is such a great avenue. The esco's will be hiring people permanently so some people will get permanent jobs out of energy efficiency and weatherization."
The governor didn't say how many jobs would be created, but training and hiring should happen in the next 60 to 90 days. | | |
