Grenade Scare in Wilkes-Barre - Sunday, January 4, 2009 at 9:13PM EST

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY - A tear gas grenade caused some tense moments for people in one part of Luzerne County Sunday night.

Police and firefighters were called to 198 Hazle Street in Wilkes-Barre just before 5:30 PM. That is the site of the former White House Cafe.

Police say two construction workers were working in an upstairs apartment when they found a tear gas grenade. They pulled the pin and the tear gas went off.

No one was seriously hurt.

Investigators are still looking into the incident after Sunday's incident in Wilkes-Barre.
