WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY- The Wilkes-Barre Guardian Angels move into their new digs, the old White House Cafe on Hazle Street.

The group is thankful the building's owners signed over their lease. The Guardian Angels hope to stop crime in this and other Wilkes-Barre neighborhoods.

This building on Hazle Street is no stranger to crime. Several shootings, some deadly, have happened over the years. The owners say there was never enough police presence here. They hope the Guardian Angles can help fill that void.

Neighbors like Bill Edwards think the angels can make a big difference. Bill says, "We need a bit more protection around this area. And it's not only this street., this area, we need it all over the city. That's what we need, we need a lot of protection. We got a lot of kids around this area and they shouldn't have to fear anything."

The Guardian Angels are not the only group the White House Cafe owners are in contact with. They are also talking to the Neighborhood Crime Watch and they hope those two groups can make a difference in this neighborhood.

Right now the Wilkes-Barre Guardian Angels have ten members, but they are looking for more.
