SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY - After two days of deliberating, a jury has found a Scranton businessman guilty on all counts.
Joseph Donahue was facing charges of bank fraud, credit card fraud, money laundering and lying to the FBI. His trial has taken three weeks in Scranton's federal court.
Prosecutors said Donahue betrayed the trust of his investors... but his defense attorney argued that was not the case... that the clients knew the risks involved.
Donahue is no stranger to the law. In the 1980s, he was also prosecuted as part of an international drug smuggling ring.
Eyewitness News reporter Eric Deabill was in the courtroom as the verdict came down... we'll have much on the verdict starting on Eyewitness News Live at 5:00. | |
