SCRANTON, LACKWANNA COUNTY - Saturday was the ribbon-cutting and grand opening ceremony for a project in Nay Aug Park.

Leadership Lackawanna celebrated completing the restoration of Hanlon's Grove, a picnic area that's been around since 1952. The $120,000 project was made possible by plenty of community and business donations.

Hanlon's Grove Project Advisor Rocco Genovese is proud that his daughter Lucy and other families and their children will enjoy the restored site. "That's the best part of it for me, when you're a kid you enjoy so many things like this and you never know who put it there or put the time in and the work but it's nice to be able to enjoy it and have a place to go that's close to home," he says.

The Hanlon's Grove project took two years to complete.
