HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY- School board members on Thursday night stamped out hopes for a group of students committed to bringing a dress code of their own to the district.
In a 6-to-3 vote, the students were informed loose ends still existed. Some school board members were uneasy with how the plan would be enforced. Board member Bob Childs said he was curious how it would address teachers who let violators slip through the cracks.
The dress code, described as being "lenient," would allow students to wear jeans, cargo pants, tee-shirts, polo shirts and other casual items.
A uniform policy was presented to the board in January. That measure also failed to pass in a 5-to-4 vote. | | |
