HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY- A Hazleton man will stand trial for a double murder last summer.
24-year-old Brandon McClendon is accused of shooting Jason Dixon and Eugene Henry last July 30th. Their bodies were found on the road near 7th and Carson Streets.
Prosecutors say McClendon had an argument with Dixon shortly before the murders. Defense lawyers claim it was self defense.
We spoke to a friend of Dixon who says he wasn't a violent man. Mike Toby said, "A little heartbroken. I mean he's a big guy, hung out a lot. I knew him from New York. When I seen he got shot, I heard about it. What's going on in Hazleton?"
District Court Judge Joe Zola ruled Tuesday morning there's enough evidence to send the case to trial. So far, no date has been set.
